Hello,
We want you to know 6 things.
1: We only use Genuine Original Equipment Parts - where required.
They are covered by the OE Dealer - Like Mercedes or Jaguar.
2: We will never use China made pieces or parts on your vehicle.
They are un-acceptable in long life quality to everyone - including China.
3: Every Engine lubricant - will meet or exceed the required specification
that the manufacturer has established for performance specs.
If it does not show it meets the specs on the bottle - that engine oil
(and filter) will NOT go into your engine.
4: Every Transmission fluid that we install meets or exceeds the required
specifications. Where Mineral based fluids are required - such as in Saabs
and BMW - ZF transmissions - Only OE fluids from those manufacturers
parts departments are ordered and installed..
5: Every engine oil change we do is covered under the manufacturer's
1 year - mileage warranty - to never be the originating cause of any
engine failure. Likewise, the transmission fluid and final drive
gear oils are
blueprinted reverse engineered products - with product liability insurance
warranting them to be free from product defects - in all non-racing
applications.
Gerald Ford so made it a public law -
Made effective 1 July 1975 -
That any manufacturer that so claimed that using another product that was
a required service item - to be renewed routinely - to maintain warranty
coverage -
That as long as it (the replacement part, or lubricant or whatever) actually met
or exceeded the specification that the warranty contract would remain valid and
the terms and conditions met.
If such a new part, lubricant or whatever met or exceeded the specifications set
forth ...
and
The manufacturer's agent still stipulates that using it will void the remaining
warranty ...
Then the manufacturer's agent must give - completely free of all costs - labor
excluded - the required part or material needed to fulfill the warranty contract
- for the continuing term remaining - until the contract is expired.
No one can abstractly "void a warranty"
Without assessing and then condemning ...
and then reporting the originating cause or defect which voids the contract
agreement.
Abstractly - causing fear in the heart of vehicle owners is both un-ethical
... to the point of being afraid to hardly touch a power-plant for fear of some
false claim levied against the owner or service shop.
All other talk - Spouted by vehicle owners
and
OE Vehicle dealers or their service managers -
is basically empty - fear talk -
spoken by people who do not really have a clue as to what they are saying.
NO one can void a warranty by providing competent service
using quality repair parts.
In fact - in stances where there are emergency conditions and there are no
"Authorized OE repair/maintenance shops" to be seen ...
Many of the OE manufacturers will pay for required emergency maintenance -
which empowers a vehicle under warranty to be able to move itself
again under it's own power - back to the owner's home base/region.
Truly - Only when or where - major components must be changed -
under warranty and a manufacturer's agent must acquire the authorization from
the manufacturer and perform the work themselves -as in an engine replacement -
would you or anyone ever really need to have a vehicle towed to a dealer -
hundreds of miles away. That is ludicrous - in all parts of our
world.
VW for example - would re-imburse the normal expenses of having to replace a
transmission in one of their new Rabbits ... if it failed ...if one was
available to be shipped to the shop ... and the shop had a skilled mechanic
capable to renew it. ...
Including motel charges.
Volvo did something very similar - related to a broken timing belt on a
940 a few years ago - which destroyed the engine head - at 28,000 miles.
Warranty re-imbursed some $5600 in parts, labor, air freight and motel charges -
while it was being repaired across Thanksgiving Week -
a near impossible time to get anything to happen.
Yet - it was covered.
We did not void the warranty then.
And we will not void the warranty on any vehicle today - by performing
usual and ordinary service and maintenance work - using quality parts
and thoroughness in our service work.
